Erinstime’s Christmas Cheer!
Here’s a poem written by player Erinstime, sent in for the Paddy Pays for Christmas promotion, we thought it was far too good not to publish!!
Take a fistful of magic and a heartful of love
Add joy and contentment and mix with above
Light a fire in the hearth and kindle with care
Lay a table with crockery, add good Christmas fare
Wrap presents in paper all shiny and bright
Read the children a story and kiss them goodnight
Get the ‘oul fella his slippers and pour him a stout
Retrieve to the kitchen, get the mixing bowl out
Add raisins, sultanas, flour and eggs times four
Mix in the bowl for one minute or more
Now put into the oven, 3 hours to bake
Ask Paddy Power to put “the icing on the cake”
This recipe when priced up does not come in cheap
Enough to make your eyes water and cause grown men to weep
Such a fine festive menu is costly but nice
To sum up I would say One Hundred pound would suffice
