One day when I was in college, one of the guys that lived with me decided to make chips in the chip pan. I arrived home just as the fire brigade were leaving. I walked into the kitchen and the whole room was filled with smoke!
He had forgotten about the chips. The cupboards all around the cooker were melted. The smell of smoke in the house stayed for about two years! Needless to say, the landlord didn’t like us after that!
