The Secret Diary of a Paddy CM - Fri 24th October
Oh save me! Pleaseeee save me! Its half term next week and the kids are home already due to a “teacher training day”. Teacher training day?? Whats that about? I thought the people who are paid to teach our kids WERE already trained! If not why don’t we all just keep our kids at home and teach them ourselves. Would save us a fair bit in taxes. And then they tell us that we cant take our kids on holiday during term time to take advantage of cheap fares etc because “every day our child is off school could be detrimental to their educational future”!
WELL STOP THE TRAINING DAYS AND TRAIN TEACHERS DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS THEN!!
Jeez theres enough of em after all! Where we live if we even attempt it that whack a £50 per child fine on us in a bid to discourage it. Thats ok.. next year we’re gonna have a mass epidemic of tonsilitis and go on holiday!
Wouldnt matter too much here anyway.. according to the teachers I saw the other night Ive got a couple of brain boxes on me hands. Probably explains why they are such a handful. They obviously get their brains from me, given that their dad still hasnt worked out how to switch the iron or the kettle on. Lets just hope they get their looks from me too. If they end up taking after their dad in that department we will end up with 5 young adults with the brains of Carol Vorderman and the looks of a donkeys arse! Not that Im much to look at either you see, but my reflection has yet to shatter mirrors.
Feels kinda weird today. Its my day off, and although I’ve really been looking forward to going to bed before Big Ben chimes 2am in the background, I know by 8pm Im gonna be bored senseless. Being a CM can almost be as habitual as playing the bingo itself. Take last Friday night. I sat here watching the tv and I kept looking at the time. I didnt know what to do with myself and in the end was watching his Lordship until he nodded off so I could log in and gatecrash Jaspers nawty night!
Im meant to be painting a bedroom today, but backside has yet to be parted from Pc chair. I will endeavour to make that separation very soon, preferably before night time sets in. Im also meant to be going to pick up my prescription from the chemist but again… I really cant be bothered.
Floors need mopping, washing machine needs loading again, kids need throttling… oops did I really say that? And soon enough, His Lordship will be home demanding his coffee and whinging that Ive done nothing.
Oh well…… I suppose I should at least get some clothes on!
